DESCRIPTION:Join Southeast Rural Community Assistance Project\, Inc. (SERCAP) for this exciting New Event!In 2026\, SERCAP will host its first-ever Water Is Life Sneaker Ball! SERCAP's Board and Staff are inviting you to join the fun and attend this inaugural fundraising event and ball. You will be greeted with a grand Red-Carpet Arrival\, followed by dinner and a short Program\, before the Dancing and revelry commence. The event will feature Live Music by local band\, Groove Kontrol\, a Best Sneaker Contest (wear your best\, blinged out Sneakers)\, and fun! Date: Thursday\, April 9\, 2026 Time: 5:30PM Red Carpet Arrival\; 6:15PM Dinner and Program\; 7:15PM Dancing and Mingling Location: The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center - 110 Shenandoah Ave.\, NE Roanoke\, VA 24016 *N.B. Please note that dress for the event is Cocktail Attire to Black-tie\, but of course shoe attire is sneakers! SERCAP's Annual State Basket Raffle will return\, even at this new event! Each year\, the agency raffles off a Basket from each state in its service region to raise funds for SERCAP's Annual Fund. SERCAP's Annual Fund provides unrestricted support that allows the agency to serve populations and support projects that fall outside the restrictions of its grant funders. Additionally\, the Annual Fund supports the agency's overall operations. Over the past few years\, it has become clear that SERCAP needs to increase its unrestricted funding support in order for the agency to cover basic operating costs and better support its communities and individual clients. Your gifts\, either via a Raffle Ticket Purchase or a Donation\, make the work we do possible. Without your continued support\, we would not be able to achieve our mission.
