Poliner is an associate professor of English at Hollins. Her latest novel, As Close to Us as Breathing, was named an Amazon Best Book for March 2016. A National Public Radio reviewer called it “the kind of novel you sink into blissfully." The New York Times said it is “a big-hearted roundelay of a novel that, among other things, performs the invaluable service of recovering a lost world.” Poliner also wrote Mutual Life & Casualty, a novel in stories, and What You Know in Your Hands, a poetry collection. Q&A with the author, Friday, September 2, 11 am, Hollins Room, Wyndham Robertson Library. |
