Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Virginia (BBBS) is in need of male volunteers! Through our 60 Men in 60 Days campaign, we are working from August 1 to September 29 to recruit 60 men to serve as Big Brothers.  Partnering with organizations and businesses like yours will help us to achieve this goal – giving 60 more boys a better chance at a better future.
 
BBBS is the most experienced one-to-one youth mentoring organization in the area.  We are backed by over 300 sister-agencies nationwide and third-party research that confirms the power and effectiveness of our mentoring model.
 
We match adults who volunteer as mentors (“Big Brothers” or “Big Sisters”) with children who need an extra friend and role model (“Little Brothers” and “Little Sisters”).  While these mentors build relationships with their Littles, we build a relationship with the mentors – guiding, coaching and supporting.
 
There are Boys Who Need You Now
97% of the children on our waiting list are boys.  These are children whose caregivers/teachers signed them up for a mentor because they understand the benefits of Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring. These boys are eagerly waiting for a call from us, telling them that we have found a Big Brother.  Some have been waiting for up to 1 year.
