Trites is the author of Literary Conceptualizations of Growth: Metaphors and Cognition in Adolescent Literature; Waking Sleeping Beauty: Feminist Voices in Children’s Novels; Twain, Alcott and the Adolescent Reform Novel; and Disturbing the Universe: Power and Repression in Adolescent Literature, winner of the Children’s Literature Association’s Book Award. She is professor of English at Illinois State University. Sponsored by the graduate programs in children's literature and children's book illustration.
