Join us for our 2nd Annual Butterfly Ball, a fluttering and fantastic evening under the stars of Roanoke on the rooftop of Center in the Square. Taking inspiration from our butterflies, we invite you to wear vibrantly colored cocktail attire and dance away an amazing summer evening with us.
At 6 pm, we will begin the evening in the lovely Center in the Square atrium with a wine tasting from Barrel Chest and a beer tasting from Soaring Ridge Craft Brewers. Moving upward to the 5th floor, we will tour the Science Museum’s beautiful Butterfly Garden and our newest exhibit: Dinosaurs & Fossils! Complete the evening on the rooftop of Center in the Square with great entertainment, fine food, and this year’s signature cocktail–The Blue Morpho (which includes a little kick from Virginia Sweetwater Moonshine from Appalachian Mountain Spirits). The evening will include a presentation from our Director of Living Collections, Derek “The Butterfly Guy” Kellogg, and other entertainment from local cultural organizations and musicians, including a fashion show by Fashionista Roanoke. There will be a chance to bid for some wonderful items in our silent auction and plenty of chances to win fun raffle prizes as well.
