Dr. Anna Mackin Joins Vistar Eye Center as Team's Latest Ophthalmologist

(ROANOKE, VIRGINIA) — Vistar Eye Center welcomes Anna Mackin, M.D., as the latest ophthalmologist to join its best-in-class eye care team.

As a Fellowship Trained Retina Surgeon, Dr. Mackin specializes in retina services such as vitreoretinal medicine and surgery where she will help patients with a variety of vision-threatening conditions using state-of-the-art imaging and clinical and surgical technologies.

“I am grateful for this opportunity to continue striving to make a difference in people's lives as an ophthalmologist,” said Mackin. “I look forward to helping improve the quality of life for my new Vistar patients, while building long-lasting relationships with them and my colleagues.”

After receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Colorado in 2015, Dr. Mackin completed her Internship at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver and Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 2019. She completed a fellowship in the Diseases and Surgery of the Retina, Macula, and Vitreous as the Snyder Family Endowed Fellow at the University of Chicago in 2021.
