3,200 FREE Bouquets Set to Brighten Roanoke on October 14

George's Flowers and MKB REALTORS Partner to Spread Happiness Through Petal It Forward

George's Flowers and MKB REALTORS are teaming up to brighten the Roanoke Valley once more on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, by distributing 3,200 FREE flower bouquets as part of Petal It Forward, a nationwide initiative organized by the Society of American Florists (SAF).

From 10 a.m. until approximately 1 p.m., or until all bouquets have been distributed, volunteers will surprise Roanoke residents with two FREE bouquets each—one to enjoy themselves and another to give to a friend, family member, coworker or even a complete stranger.

Where to Find Petal It Forward Bouquets will be distributed at four locations across Roanoke, with a possible fifth location to be announced:

George's Flowers: 1953 Franklin Road

George's Flowers' future new location: 2750 Ogden Road, across the street near Mill Mountain Coffee,

(depending on construction).

Roanoke City Market

MKB REALTORS Main Office: 3801 Electric Road SW, Roanoke, VA 24018

MKB REALTORS Salem Office: 132 East Main Street Salem VA 24153

The Happiness Behind the Flowers Petal It Forward is inspired by research demonstrating the positive emotional effects of flowers. University studies have found that flowers can have an immediate impact on happiness and a lasting positive effect on mood. Research shared by the Society of American Florists also suggests that giving flowers can be just as rewarding as receiving them.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Media are invited to visit participating distribution locations on Wednesday, October 14, between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Interviews and photo opportunities may be arranged
