Description
On Thursday, January 24, 2019, Roanoke County officials will excitedly gather with Bent Mountain entrepreneur, Eathan Gleiner, to celebrate the launch of MtnNet, a new residential internet service company built specifically to bring reliable, high speed, wireless broadband to one of the most digitally underserved parts of the Roanoke Valley.
Upon launch, the new wireless internet service is prepared to serve about 125 homes, approximately one-quarter of all Bent Mountain residences, with expansion plans already underway. MtnNet will initially offer speeds up to 25mbps.
The ribbon cutting celebration, which is open to the public, will feature the incredible story of a local resident’s drive to innovate and solve a technology and infrastructure problem that was affecting the health, safety, and livability of a community he loved.
The event will be held at Bent Mountain’s Fire and Rescue Station, across from the Bent Mountain Bistro, and will begin at 11:00 AM.
