Reading by Elizabeth Seydel Morgan '60 Green Drawing Room, Main, Hollins University Elizabeth Seydel Morgan, a 1960 graduate of Hollins, served as the Louis D. Rubin, Jr. Writer-in-Residence in 2007. Her latest book is Spans: New and Selected Poems. She is the author of several other books of poetry, including Parties, The Governor of Desire, On Long Mountain, and Without a Philosophy. Her poems have appeared in various anthologies, including the Library of Congress? website Poetry 180, and in periodicals such as Shenandoah, Southern Review, and Poetry. She has earned numerous awards and recognitions, including the Carole Weinstein Prize in Poetry, the Emily Clark Balch Award from Virginia Quarterly Review, and a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
